RecallChess — Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-05

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RecallChess website, browser extension, and related software (together, "RecallChess"). By using RecallChess, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use RecallChess.

What RecallChess does

RecallChess helps chess players review and remember opening repertoires by importing local PGN files, reading Chessable course information through your existing browser session, and showing repertoire status on supported chess websites.

Third-party services and account actions

RecallChess is an independent browser extension and web app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Chess.com, Lichess, Chessable, or any other third-party website or service.

Your use of RecallChess with third-party websites is at your own risk. You are solely responsible for complying with each site's terms, rules, fair-play policies, account policies, and technical restrictions.

We do not control third-party websites or their automated systems, security systems, anti-abuse systems, fair-play systems, account review processes, or enforcement decisions. We are not responsible for any warning, restriction, suspension, ban, loss of access, feature limitation, data loss, display issue, site malfunction, or other consequence arising from your installation or use of RecallChess with a third-party website.

Third-party websites may change, restrict, block, or remove access to their pages, APIs, sessions, or interfaces at any time. RecallChess does not guarantee continued compatibility with any third-party website.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Availability and changes

RecallChess may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Supported sites may also change their pages, APIs, or access rules, which can temporarily or permanently affect RecallChess functionality.

No warranty

RecallChess is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that RecallChess will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every training workflow. Chess analysis, repertoire matching, and imported data may be incomplete or incorrect.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RecallChess and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, account access, profits, goodwill, or opportunity arising from your use of RecallChess.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to RecallChess if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other users, or used the service in a way that could harm RecallChess or supported third-party sites.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may highlight the change in the app, extension, or website. Continued use of RecallChess after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
